Quote of the Day – 3/23/16

“I believe that every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity an obligation; every possession a duty.” -John D. Rockefeller

I had to think hard about this one. I’ve only given myself 15 minutes to write it in because I realized how late it already is, and I need to do my duty in regards to my home and straighten up around here before my husband gets home from a long, hard day of work.

I’ve been so focused on trying to make a career of my calling to write that I’ve been letting everything else in my life slide, and that’s not acceptable. Yes, it’s important to put forth as much effort as you can into your calling, but not at the expense of the order of your home, the needs of your loved ones, or your own personal health needs. So, I’m making some changes. I got up this morning and got straight to work on a post I’m writing for Blog Mutt. I should have done this post first, done some cleaning, and then worked on my Blog Mutt post.

I need to restructure my priorities; that much is obvious. You’ll be glad to know that I am working on my health. I’m back on the 21 Day Fix diet and exercise program (or will be when my replacement DVDs arrive), but I’ve got my portion control food containers, and I’ve already dropped almost 2 pounds in 2 days just following the diet plan. I’m talking too much about myself, but I just thought I’d share that with you.

More to the point of this post, I want to encourage you to take a look at your priorities. Is your calling even on the list? If not, it should be, but don’t put it up on a pedestal so high that it precludes other important areas of your life. Seek balance and order both in your personal life and your pursuit of your calling.

I could use some prayers in that area, and I will pray for you as well.

God bless y’all!
