Quote of the Day – 3/10/16

“Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.” -Chinese Proverb

How does this particuar quote relate to heeding your calling? It took me a while to figure out how they related. I believe that heeding your calling means being willing to further your understanding of it. I believe it means that you have to be willing to invest in your calling. You have to be willing to learn more, delve deeper, and pursue it harder. You have to explore different avenues within your calling. You never know how it will deepen and enrich your love and understanding of your preferred avenues of your calling.

Find people who know more than you do. Work with them. Allow them to mentor you. Learn as much as you can about every facet of your calling as you can. Then you’ll find what you really love, have a vast array of knowledge within your field, and a wider arsenal of skills for pursuing your calling and finding what you’re supposed to be doing with your life.

I’m not just offering empty advice. I’m doing this myself, in my own life. I’m taking courses in copywriting in the hope that they will provide me a way to make a living doing what I love, and also make me a stronger fiction writer.

See y’all next time! Good luck pursuing you own calling!
