Working Through A Writer’s Guide to Persistence by Jordan Rosenfeld

For the past few years, I have been struggling with my writing. As someone who’s fixated on constantly honing my craft, I compulsively buy books geared to that purpose. A Writer’s Guide to Persistence is one of the few that I have felt a real drive to finish reading the whole thing RIGHT NOW, as opposed to picking through the chapters to find whatever I need at the moment. As I was reading it the other night, Julie & Julia happened to come on TV and an idea struck me. Why not work through A Writer’s Guide to Persistence on my blog in the way that Julie Powell worked her way through Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking? I think this could work.

There are 25 “Work It” assignments in the book. I will do one assignment a week for the next 25 weeks. I’ll put up a countdown widget in this blog’s sidebar to keep me on track.

highly recommend this book to any writer who struggles with consistency or persistence in his or her writing practice.
